Nuapada: Vigilance sleuths in Nuapada have arrested a lady doctor of Sinapali Community Health Centre (CHC) red-handed while taking bribe from a staff of the hospital today.
The held doctor has been identified as Sukanti Panda, Incharge, Sinapali CHC.
As per the allegation against Panda, she demanded a sum of Rs 7,000 as bribe from one Mahesh Sahis of the hospital a few days back to release the latter’s pending salary for the last three months.
Mahesh who works as a Sweeper in the CHC found it difficult to pay the bribe and took the matter to the notice of Nuapada Vigilance unit a couple of days ago.
Led by Bhawanipatna DSP Satyaban Mahanand the anti-corruption wing officials laid a trap and conducted a raid at Panda’s cabin accordingly this morning. During the raid the accused doctor was caught red-handed while taking the bribe from the complainant.
