FIR against SCBCuttack: The family members of the Kunduli gang rape survivor, who has been undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital here, lodged FIR against the SCB medical authorities, police and Koraput District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) on Saturday.

In the FIR, lodged at the Mangalabag Police Station here, the mother of the minor tribal girl alleged that the family members have requested the SCB medical authorities and the said agencies to discharge their daughter from the hospital, but the medical authorities fell onto deaf ears.

“The government agencies have been trying to suppress the incident,” she claimed.

Senior Congress leader and former Nabarangpur MP Pradeep Majhi, who accompanied the victim’s mother at the Police Station, declared to stage indefinite protest on the medical premises if the minor girl was not discharged from the hospital today.

“The police personnel have been harassing mentally to the minor girl while the medical officials cooperating the police in this regard. Sadly, the family members are not allowed to meet the victim,” Majhi said.

“We appeal the SCB medical authorities to discharge the minor girl from the hospital at the earliest, or else, we will stage indefinite protest on the medical premises,” the Congress leader warned.

On November 18, the minor girl, in an attempt to commit suicide, allegedly consumed excessive iron tablets and started vomiting continuously at the Tribal Welfare (TRW) School in Kotapad where she was being looked after by the District Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

On November 19, the class-IX student was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital after her health condition deteriorated.

The minor girl of Musaguda village in Koraput district was allegedly gang raped by a group of security personnel while she was returning from the Kunduli Haat (market) on October 10 that created a huge public outcry in the state.
