Koraput Stone Quarry: Deceased JCB operator’s kin get Rs 6 lakh Ex-gratia

Koraput: Family members of one of the JCB operators, who died in the Koraput stone quarry mishap, received a compensation of Rs 6 lakh today.

Informing about this, Koraput District Collectors K Sudarshan Chakravarthy said that kin of JCB operator Ghanashyam Guru, whose body was recovered today, received an ex-gratia of Rs 6 lakh of which Rs 5 lakh was given from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and the other Rs 1 Lakh was given by the Red Cross Society.

Guru’s body though was spotted on Sunday, was recovered only today.

Notably, Guru along with another JCB operator Sanjay Das died after being trapped inside a stone quarry near Telengir Irrigation project at Bariput under Bisingpur police limits in the district on May 31.
