Koraput: A pall of gloom descended on Silapada village under Lamtaput block in Odisha’s Koraput district this afternoon following the death of a woman and injury of her seven other family members in a lightning strike.
According to reports, the family members of one Sadeb Kirsani and his brother were sitting on the veranda of their house. A lightning struck them all of a sudden causing the death of Sadeb’s wife Durga on the spot and leaving others injured.
The injured persons include five women and two men. They were admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Lamtaput for treatment.
While three of them recovered, four others who were critical were referred to Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput for further treatment.
