Koira Sorcery Killing: Police arrest another accused from Mayurbhanj

Rourkela: In a success to police in Koira sensational murder case of last week, they arrested one more accused today.

The accused has been identified as Solen, a resident of Ghagarabeda village of Mayurbhanj district.

As per the report, a team of Koira Police conducted a raid on the accused’s house in his native village this morning and took him into custody.

However, in his reaction to media after arrest Solen claimed that though he accompanied the main accused of the murder Raju Munda to the crime spot on the day of the incident he had no intention to get involved in the crime.

“I consumed country liquor along with Raju in Rugurisahi near Khandwa area and then set out for Sana Indupur village. En-route to the crime spot Raju told me that, we are heading to kill a woman who is involved in witchcraft and killed his niece,” claimed Solen.

Notably, Koira Police on Monday arrested at least six persons in connection with the case identified as brothers Kisri Munda, Salu Munda, Dagam Munda, Debra Munda (brother-in-law of the three), Motu Munda (a relative) and Budram Munda (the sorcerer).

The accused had killed the victim woman Mangli Munda (30) along with her four children aged 10 months to 12 years on January 25 evening with pry bars and dumped them in a nearby well when her husband was out of home on duty.
