Know about Maoists’ ‘Pathsala’ in Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Maoists have reportedly opened a ‘Pathsala’ (Education centre) at their ‘permanent camp’ in Malkangiri district of Odisha.

The Pathsala has been named as ‘Janata Siksha Pathsala’, which serves as the central office of the Maoists in the ‘Swabhiman’ area of the tribal dominant district. It reportedly recruits cadres in the region.

Kalinga TV today found the footage of interior of the Pathsala that consists of three large rooms.

More than 30 photos of slain Maoists including women Maoists, who were killed in Ramaguda encounter in 2016, were placed in the wooden rack inside the building. The names and ranks of the slain Maoists were also written below their respective photos.

Know about Maoists’ ‘Pathsala’ in Odisha’s Malkangiri

In 2017, the red ultras had constructed a permanent building in a dense forest near Totaguda village in the ‘Swabhiman’ area of the district.

The area is said to be at least 90 km away from Chitrakonda block headquarter in the tribal dominant distrct. It is an inter-state junction, surrounded by  forests of Andhra Pradesh , Chhattisgarh and Odisha’s massive Balimela reservoir.
