KISS pays homage to Dr B R Ambedkar on his death anniversary

Bhubaneswar: The nation is remembering Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his 62nd death anniversary today. On this occasion, founder of KIIT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Dr Achyuta Samanta paid homage to Dr Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of India, on Wednesday.

Dr Samanta offered floral tribute to the Father of Indian Constitution at his statue in the KISS premises in the capital city. Professors, senior officials and students of KISS attended the event.

Paying his tributes to Dr Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Diwas, Deputy Director of KISS, Dr. Iswar Chandra Naik said, “Bhim Rao Ambedkar fought to eradicate the social evils like untouchability and for the rights of the Dalits and other socially backward classes throughout his life.”

“Bhim Rao Ambedkar had said three important words – Educate, Agitate and Organise. KISS has truly been following the philosophy of Dr Ambedkar by promoting the downtrodden students in the field of education, sports, culture and other areas,” he added.

Dr Ambedkar died on this day in 1956.The day is observed every year as Mahaparinirvan Diwas.
