Dhenkanal: The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) have extended helping hand towards the saints of Mahima Gadi Ashram at Joranda in Dhenkanal district of Odisha.
KIIT and KISS have provided food supplies, including 10 quintals of rice, one quintal pulses, one quintal flattened rice, sugar and cash money of Rs. 1 lakh for meeting the expenses of the next two months.
More than 100 saints of the Ashram collect ‘Bhiksha’ (alms) during summer for their sustenance in the monsoon. However, this summer proved challenging for them because of the Covid-19 crisis.
Some of the saints who personally acquainted with Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, had informed him about the crisis. Accordingly, Dr. Samanta made arrangements to send the food materials and other essential commodities to the ashram.
On behalf of Dr. Samanta, Shri Himanshu Khatua, CEO, KSFM and MD, Kalinga TV handed over the food materials as well as cash to the saints in Mahima Gadi, Joranda on Monday.
Dr. Samanta said, “We are happy that we have been able to help in our small possible way during these challenging times”.
