Khurda MLA Admitted In Bombay Hospital For Cancer Treatment

Bhubaneswar: BJD MLA from Khurda Jyotirindra Nath Mitra has been admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute in Mumbai for treatment of cancer.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed concern over the health condition of the three time-MLA, popularly known as Jitu Mitra.

The 68-year-old politician first became an independent legislator in 2000 before being elected as MLA on a BJD ticket twice in 2004 and 2019.  

Patnaik has directed Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das to visit Mumbai on Monday and take stock of the situation. The Chief Minister has instructed the Health Minister to ensure the best treatment for Mitra.

So far, the Odisha Government has released Rs 20 lakh towards the treatment of the ailing legislator.
