Odisha’s Khordha reports above 100 Covid cases today

Bhubaneswar: A total of 424 Covid-19 positive cases including 47 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours.

This has taken the tally of Covid to 10,55,980 informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department after the first weekend of New Year 2022.

Among the 424 positives, 246 are quarantine cases and 178 are local contacts.

However, 147 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of recovered persons to 10,45,109. There are a total of 2355 active cases.

Khordha district has reported the highest number of Covid cases with 151 positives.

It is to be noted that as many as 23 Omicron positives have been detected in Odisha on January 2, 2022 and the tally has risen to 37. Among the 23 Omicron cases 7 were from Keonjar, 4 from Khurda, 2 from Boudh, 1 from Jagatsinghpur and Balasore each, 3 from Sambalpur and Puri each, 2 from Angul. The 23 Omicron case includes 19 males and 4 females of the 8-83 age group.
