Keonjhar: A 50-year-old man was killed in elephant attack at Dudhianali village under Ghatgaon forest division in Odisha’s Keonjar district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Bharat Naik of the village.
According to reports, an elephant was believed to have attacked Bharat when he was going to his farmland on feet late last night.
Hearing his screams, the villagers rescued him in a critical condition and rushed him to Harichandanpur Community Health Centre (CHC). However, the doctor declared him brought dead.
Meanwhile, the local police and forest officials reached the village and began investigation in this connection.
A pal of gloom has descended in the area after the tragic incident on the occasion of the holy Bahuda Yatra.
