Kandhamal MP Samanta urges central govt to formulate new policy for returned Indian medical students

New Delhi: Thousands of Indian medical students have returned from Ukraine due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Now they stare at a bleak future. Taking a serious note of this, the Kandhamal MP Achyuta Samanta has urged the Central government and Union Health Ministry to formulate a new policy for the returned medical students.

While urging the Union Government, Samanta said that a new policy should be formed for the returned Indian medical students so that they can study either in of the government or private medical colleges in the country.

The Kandhamal MP met Ravi Kant, the Special Resident Commissioner of Odisha Bhawan in New Delhi, and the returned Odias. According to reports, more than 500 Odias are still stranded in Ukraine. A total of 380 of them are said to have reached the safe zones.
