Kandhamal: Kandhamal MP Pratyusha Rajeswari Singh is all set to join the Congress party. Singh had resigned from the primary membership of the BJD on Wednesday after being denied party ticket to contest the election from Nayagarh Assembly seat.
The news of Pratyusha Rajeswari Singh joining the grand old party was confirmed by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Chief Niranjan Patnaik on Thursday.
Patnaik informed that through a letter, Pratyusha had expressed her desire to join the Congress party. She is likely to join the party either on March 23 or 24.
However, the OPCC chief revealed that the party is yet to decide the constituency from where she would contest the polls.
He said the Congress party has already announced its candidate for Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat. Thus, Pratyusha Rajeswari Singh might contest from the Nayagarh assembly seat or any other seat. The decision regarding this will be taken after she formally joins the party.
