Cuttack: The 2-year-old conjoined twins of Melupada village under Phiringia block in Kandhamal village will be treated at AIIMS, New Delhi.
Following media reports, Health Minister Pratap Jena tweeted saying that the State Government would bear the medical expenses of the children.
Kalinga TV had highlighted the story of the conjoined twins in November 2016, and then repeated it on June 7, 2017.
Bhuyan Kanhar and Puspanjali Kanhar brought their conjoined sons to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack today for initial tests and treatment before being shifted to the Delhi AIIMS in a couple of days.
“We are grateful to Odisha government for extending financial support. We had never dreamed of treating the children as the medical expenses are very high and what we earn is only a pittance,” said Bhuyan.
