Jeypore: BJD president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced the first point of his party’s manifesto and promised to provide two instalments (Rs 10,000) of Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) assistance at one go on day-one if BJD forms the government in the state.
Patnaik, who made the announcement at a public meeting at Jeypore Stadium in tribal-dominated Koraput district, said that around 25 lakh more eligible farmers will definitely be given the pending Rs 10,000 assistance of two instalments at one go.
“Farmer has been placed No 1 (top priority) in our agenda. The welfare of the farmers has been made No 1 in the manifesto of Biju Janata Dal (BJD). You all know about KALIA Yojana. 40 lakh farmers have already been benefitted under KALIA Yojana. A list has been prepared for 25 lakh more beneficiary farmers,” said Naveen.
The Odisha CM also made a scatching attack on the Centre saying where were the big BJP leaders, who are now visiting Odisha during election time, when natural disasters hit the state.
