Kalahandi’s Thuamul Rampur CDPO caught red handed while accepting bribe

Kalahandi: The Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) at Thuamul Rampur in Kalahandi district has been caught red handed by Odisha Vigilance on Monday for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.

The CDPO has been identified as Pushpanjali Rath.

On the basis of an reliable information, Nabarangpur vigilance team conducted a raid while Pushpanjali was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the complainant, Bira Singh, at her residence in Badapada area of district headquarters Bhawanipatna. She demanded the bribe for the appointment of his spouse as Anganwadi worker.

The vigilance team comprised of Nabarangpur Vigilance DSP Kalabati Bag, Malkangiri Vigilance DSP Sushant Biswal, and other officials.

Simultaneous searches have been launched on properties of Pushpanjali at one place in Balangir district and two places in Kalahandi district. Further investigation is in progress against Pushpanjali.
