Kadambini Sahitya Mahotsav to be held on January 6

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s first ever monthly family magazine ‘Kadambini’ is celebrating New Year by organising ‘Kadambini Sahitya Mahotsav’ and ‘Kadambini Patrika Haata’. These yearly mega-events of Kadambini will be held on January 6, 2019, at the Convention Centre, Campus 6 of KIIT in Bhubaneswar.

Kadambini’s editor Dr Iti Samanta and, founder of KIIT and KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta released a statement in this context.

On this occasion renowned writer Prof. Manoj Das will be felicitated with the first ever ‘Nilimarani Sahitya Samman-2019’.

During this one-day function ‘Kunakuninku Chithi’, a letter book authored by Dr. Iti Samanta and published by Kadambini Media, will also be released.

The function will be inaugurated by Dr. K. Sreenivasa Rao, Secretary of Kendriya Sahitya Academy.

Prof. T. V. Kattimani, Vice-Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, MP will grace the opening ceremony as the chief guest while renowned writer Prof Shantanu Kumar Acharya will preside over the meeting.

On this occasion, renowned poet Satyabadi Rout will be felicitated with Kadambini Sahitya Samman 2019 while Akshaya Behera, poet, and editor of the literary journal ‘Katha Katha Kabita Kabita’, will be awarded with the Kadambini Sampadaka Samman 2019. Also, Krushna Singh, Indulata Mohanty, Sankarshana Pratihari and Suvidya Devi will be awarded with the Kadambini Sahitya Sambardhana 2019.

Renowned writer Dr. Garima Srivastava, social activist Abha Singh, film personality, poet and social activist Satarupa Sanyal, renowned journalist and writer of ‘The Anatomy of Hate’ Rebati Laul and ‘Society’ magazine’s editor, Suchitra Iyer will take part in the penal discussion round ‘Alochana’. Srinibas Ghatuari and Prachi Mohapatra will anchor this session.   

Later, in the third session ‘Kabi O Kabita’, Gohar Raja, Aswini Kumar, Anuradha Singh, Mamata Dash, Amaresh Patnaik, Prabasini Mahakud, Hussain Ravi Gandhi, Soubhagyabanta Maharana, Aparna Mohanty, Hrushikesh Mallick, Surya Mishra Shridev, Rabi Satpathy, Sushanta Kumar Nayak, Sucheta Mishra, Suresh Nayak, Binapani Panda, Sabitri Kabi and Himanshu Achari will recite their poems. Bijaylaxmi Parida and Sudambandhu Bhattamishra will anchor the session.

Another attraction of Sahitya Mahotsav is the state level children’s dance competition ‘KunaKuni Mela’. Hosted by Odisha’s first ever monthly children’s magazine Kunikatha, the winners will be given away with enticing prizes. The competition will be judged by some of the renowned judges of this field. Aswini and Prerna will anchor the show.
