Bhubaneswar: The 17th Kadambini Literary Festival and the 12th Patrika Haat was inaugurated at the Convention Centre of Campus VI on the KIIT premises today.
While the former Union External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid opened the annual event by cutting the ribbon, noted writer Mridula Garg and novelist Anuradha Roy accompanied them on the occasion.
KIIT and KISS founder and Kandhamal MP Dr Achyuta Samanta remained present at the inaugural ceremony which witnessed a crowd of literature lovers of the State in the morning.
Earlier it had been announced by the host of the programmes that, Upendra Prasad Nayak, editor of ‘Satadru’ will be awarded with the Kadambini Sampadaka Samman 2020. Besides, Priyabrata Das, Binodini Devi, Bhupen Mahapatra and Rajeswari Dalbehera will be honoured with the Kadambini Sahitya Sambardhana.
Worth mentioning, Dr. Achyuta Samanta and Dr. Iti Samanta have been patronizing literature since last many years. It will not be an exaggeration to aver that the Kadambini Literary Festival is a unique approach in the country.
A number of biggies from the world of literature attend the fest and discuss various facets of contemporary literature. The daylong event is one of the most discussed Fests not only in Odisha but also in the country.
