Justice Pramath Patnaik takes oath as Orissa High Court Judge

Cuttack: Justice Pramath Patnaik took oath as the Judge of Orissa High Court on Friday.  Orissa HC Chief Justice KS Jhaveri administered the oath of the office and secrecy to Justice Pramath Patnaik at a ceremony organised on the premises of Orissa HC.

Justice Pramath was re-transferred to the Orissa High Court from the Jharkhand High Court.

Born on June 14, 1959, Justice Pramath Patnaik did Matriculation in 1975 from Government High School, Bhubaneswar and cleared the Intermediate in Arts in 1977 from BJB College, Bhubaneswar. Later, he completed his Graduation from the same college in the year 1979,

He obtained a Master Degree in Political Science from Delhi University in the year 1981. Thereafter, graduated in Law from University Law College, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar in the year 1986.

He was enrolled as an Advocate in year 1986 and practiced at the Orissa High Court. He was appointed as Standing Counsel from March 1994 to October 1994 in Orissa Administrative Tribunal, Bhubaneswar and Government Advocate in-charge from October 1994 to June 1995.

He was appointed as Additional Standing Counsel in Orissa High Court from 2000 to 2006 and also appointed as Additional Government Advocate in Orissa High Court from 2006 to 2009. He was appointed as Government Advocate in Principal Bench, Orissa Administrative Tribunal, Bhubaneswar from September 2011 to September 2014.

Then, Justice Pramath Patnaik was elevated as an Additional Judge of Orissa High Court on September 24, 2014. On being transferred, he took oath as an Additional Judge in the High Court of Jharkhand on December 22, 2014.
