Justice M.M. Das Commission submits sixth interim report on Odisha chit fund scam

Cuttack: Justice M.M. Das Commission of Inquiry which is probing the multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha submitted its sixth interim report to the state government today.

Justice M.M. Das submitted the report to the secretary of the Home Department of Odisha government.

Speaking to the media about the report, Justice M.M. Das said, “The sixth report, which has been submitted to the state government today, is based on the inquiry made between 01.06.18 and 31.12.18. As many as 1,43,463 small investors have been identified while 229 investors have got back their money from the Commission.”

“Including the Sixth Report, the Commission has till date identified 3,61,817 investors. Total 1714 investors have got their money refunded at the Commission,” he added.

The commission, which had submitted its fifth interim report on July 13, 2018, informed that it may take another two to three years to identify all small investors affected in the ponzi scam.
