Baripada: In yet another case of human-animal conflict in the State, a woman was trampled to death in Haladipada village under Baisinga police limits in Mayurbhanj district today.
The deceased has been identified as Sadhabani Singh of the same locality.
As per the report, the victim had gone out of her home in some work this morning when the jumbo attack took place. A wild tusker which had sneaked into the village last night pounced on her and trampled to death on the spot.
Forest officials have rushed to the spot and sent the body for autopsy.
Efforts are underway to drive away the jumbo from the forest located near the village.
