Bhubaneswar: A senior journalist was attacked with an iron rod by two bike borne miscreants near Unit-8 Delta Square in the capital city this morning.
Reportedly, Satya Sundar Bhanja, senior journalist of a private news agency, was out on a morning walk when the two miscreants attempted to snatch his mobile phone at around 5 AM.
Thereafter as Bhanja resisted the their attempt to snatch, he was attacked with an iron rod. Due to this he sustained severe head injuries.
However, the miscreants managed to escape from the spot after snatching his mobile phone. Bhanja was rushed to the Capital Hospital at Unit 6 in Bhubaneswar.
On getting the information, the local police have arrived and initiated a probe into the matter to apprehend to the attackers.
