Joranda Mela Begins Today In Odisha Amid Covid-19 Guidelines

Dhenkanal: The world famous Joranda Mela in Dhenkanal district begins on Thursday with strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.

The festival is scheduled to be held from February 25 to 27.

With the fears of Covid-19 resurgence, the district administration has barred the entrance of devotees and sadhus from outside the district. While Sadhus will be allowed following a rapid antigen test.

The administration has restricted cultural programmes and only Mahima Mahostsav is allowed.

After the Covid test only 50 devotees will be allowed to enter the temple for 10 minutes with social distancing and use of masks. All the Covid-19 guidelines will be strictly adhered to.

Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place, around 7 platoons of force have been deployed.
