Bhubaneswar: Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Jitendra Singh has been appointed as the AICC In-charge for Odisha, replacing BK Hariprasad on Friday.
In a press release, Congress General Secratary Janardan Dwivedi said, “The Congress President Rahul Gandhi has appointed Jitendra Singh, Ex -Union Minister as the AICC In-charge of Odisha in place of BK Hariprasad.”
“The Party appreciates the hard work and contribution of BK Hariprasad who will be stepping down from his responsibility as AICC General Secretary In-charge, Odisha,” he added.
Former Nabarngpur MP and senior Congress leader Pradeep Majhi, who had worked with Jitendra Singh, welcomed the move.
“I have earlier worked with Jitendra Singh ji in various forums. His organisational skill, leadership quality and experience will definitely help our party to become stronger in our State in the days ahead,” said Majhi while talking to Kalinga TV.
