Balasore: In an incident of failed love affair, police today arrested a youth for attacking and critically injuring the mother of the girl whom he loved in Shyamanandipur village under Bhograi block of the district.
The accused has been identified as Sania Hui, a resident of Pattamundai of Kendrapara district.
As per the report, Sania who worked in Dubai of UAE established a contact with the girl on facebook a few years ago. The accused developed intimacy with the girl, who works with Bihar Police, gradually and proposed her for marriage at a later stage which she rejected.
Infuriated over the rejection of his marriage proposal, Sania reached the girls village to avenge it today morning. However after finding the girl absent at her house he attacked the girl’s mother with a billhook in a fit of rage and escaped from the spot.
The victim was first rushed to Balasore Hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical in Cuttack due to critical condition.
Police arrested the accused after conducting raids at different places later in the day and seized his passport.
