Jharsuguda ASI of Odisha Motor Vehicle Department under vigilance scanner

Jharsuguda: Odisha Vigilance conducted a raid on properties associated with the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of  Odisha Motor Vehicle Department (OMVD) in the Jharsuguda district on Friday morning on the allegation of accumulation of disproportionate assets.

The ASI of OMVD has been identified as Harekrushna Nayak.

Simultaneous searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance led by three Deputy superintendents of police (DSPs), 10 Inspectors, and other staff.

Based on a piece of reliable information, the vigilance sleuths have conducted raids at six places in Cuttack, Puri, Jharsuguda, and Ganjam districts on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.

1)1 double-storeyed building of Nayak located at Friends colony, under Mangalabag police limits in Cuttack

2)Double storeyed newly constructed building of Nayak located at his native place under Maluda police limits in Krushnaprasad of Puri

3) Office of Nayak located at OMVD/RTO office, Jharsuguda.

4)Rented house of Nayak Nayak located at Biju Nagar, ward no-09, Jharsuguda.

5)Relative’s house located at Dhipasahi, Lanjipalli, in Ganjam.

6) 1 double-storeyed building in the name of Nayak at Ram Nagar under Baidyanathpur police limits in Berhampur.

The anti-corruption department has recovered Rs 4, 46, 000 /- cash during house searches so far. Further investigation is underway and details are awaited.
