Cuttack: Former Sambalpur MLA and senior BJP leader Jaynarayan Mishra was shifted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi from SCB Medical College and Hospital after his condition deteriorated early this morning.

Mishra, who was arrested in connection with the Banabira firing case in which three persons including Labour Minister Sushant Singh’s brother were injured while his driver Dileswar Singh died, was lodged in Sohela sub-jail since March 15. Later, he was admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla after he complained of chest pain on April 22. However, he was shifted to SCB Medical on April 24 and now left for Delhi AIIMS.

Meanwhile, Mishra alleged that he is being harassed by the state government. “All this is a trap of the government against me and they are harassing me. They could have sent me directly to AIIMS from VIMSAR as there was no point in referring to SCB,” he claimed.
