Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Odisha declared as containment zone

Sundargarh: The Sundargarh district administration has declared Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Sargipali as a containment zone after a total of 89 people tested positive for Covid-19.

Reportedly, 36 people of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya tested positive for the deadly virus on January 4 while 53 more people of the school tested positive for coronavirus on January 5.

As the number of Covid positives increased rapidly in two days, Sundargarh Sub Collector Abhimanyu Behera declared the school campus as a containment zone.

The Covid infected students have been kept in isolation and the contact tracing has been initiated.

The sanitization process of the school is also underway. The medical team has kept a continuous check on the health condition of all the Covid positives.

Similarly, the National Institute of Technology-Rourkela (NIT-R) till now has 23 Covid positive cases including three cases detected on January 3. All of them are in isolation and their health condition is said to be stable.
