Jasobanta Parida murder: BJD seeks stringent action against accused

Bhubaneswar: The state ruling BJD on Monday sought immediate arrest and stringent action against the accused involved in the murder of Dhenkanal district youth BJD President Jasobanta Parida.

Senior BJD leaders from Dhenkanal district Prafulla Mallick and Nrusingha Sahu met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik demanding thorough probe into the murder of the youth wing’s district president.

Meanwhile, DGP Dr. RP Sharma, while informing about the latest development on the case said, “Three to four miscreants had come in a Bolero. They fired five rounds of bullets at the deceased Jasobanta Parida. Police have seized the vehicles which the culprits used in the crime. Investigation into the matter is on. Police have launched a manhunt to trace the killers.”

As per the data from the RTO, the seized vehicle has a registration no- OR 02AN 6801 and belongs to one Tushar Mahanty of Kalinga Nagar area of Barbil in Keonjhar district.

“A scientific team and sniffer dog have also been engaged to conduct an on the spot probe, informed Dhenkanal Superintendent of Police (SP) Santosh Nayak.

Parida died today following a fatal attack on his car by 4 miscreants  in front of Gandhi temple under Kamakhyanagar police limits in Dhenkanal district. However, the reason behind the crime is yet to be known.
