Jajpur District Administration To Evict Guest House Of Rupesh Bhadra Arrested For Abetting Suicide Of Lady VLW

Jajpur: Jajpur District Administration has served an eviction notice to evict the guest house built by Rupesh Bhadra, the husband of Haridaspur sarpanch.

Bhadra was arrested on October 19 for abetting the suicide of lady village level worker (VLW) & in-charge panchayat executive officer (PEO) of Haridaspur, Smitarani Biswal. The body of Biswal was found hanging in the guest house on October 16.

Opposition parties which have been demanding a high-level probe into the death of the VLW had alleged that the guest house was built on government land.

Jajpur Collector Ranjan Kumar Das said that investigation by the revenue officials revealed that the guest house has been built on government land. “We have already served an eviction notice but we will not be able to demolish the guest house immediately due to the ongoing police investigation. We have also sought the opinion of Jajpur SP. We have imposed prohibitory orders in the area for the time being,” said Das.
