Jagatsinghpur: In a tragic incident a 15-year-old boy was allegedly thrashed by his father and stepmother to death in the Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha.
The incident took place in Trilochanpur village on the outskirts of Paradeep.
The deceased has been identified as Rahul Behera (15).
The maternal uncle, aunty, and grandfather of the deceased have alleged that Rahul was thrashed to death by his father and stepmother. His maternal uncle Karunakar Sethi lodged a complaint in this matter with Police.
As per reports, 12 years ago, a complaint had been filed against Makara Behera where it was alleged that he killed his wife Mamata Behera. Accordingly, Makara was sent to jail.
After being released from jail Makara married for the second time to Kuni Behera. And out of his two sons, the elder one stayed with his maternal grandfather while the younger one, name Rahul, stayed with his father and stepmother in Trilochanpur.
It has been complained that Rahul was not given adequate food by his stepmother and father for which he was working to earn his livelihood.
On the other hand, Makara Behera has lodged an FIR at Abhaya Chandapur Police Station claiming that Rahul hanged himself from the tree and committed suicide. However, the truth will come out following investigation, said Police.
