Bhubaneswar: In what could gladden the well-wishers of the separated conjoined twins Jaga-Balia, Odisha Health Minister Pratap Jena on Sunday informed that the twins are doing well and they will be discharged from AIIMS, New Delhi within two months.
“The health condition of Jaga-Balia has improved significantly. We are discussing with the staff of AIIMS, New Delhi and specialists from abroad on their further treatment. We hope that the twins will be discharged from the hospital within two months,” said Jena while speaking to the reporters.
Jaga and Balia, who were conjoined earlier on their head, were separated after two successful separation surgeries on August 28 and October 25 last year at AIIMS, New Delhi. They are still undergoing treatment in the hospital. Their parents Pushpanjali Kanhara and Bhuiya Kanhara of Milupada village in Kandhamal district are with them.
Massive prayers were offered by people across the state for their surgery and speedy recovery.
