Ishwar Behera Accused Of Spying For ISI Convicted In Odisha

Balasore: Ishwar Chandra Behera, a contractual cameraman of  Defence Research Development Organisations (DRDO)  at Chandipur in Odisha’s Balasore district who was accused of spying for Pakistani intelligence agency ISI, was today convicted by the court of ADJ and sentenced to life imprisonment.

The Balasore ADJ court held him guilty of passing confidential information to ISI regarding testing of missiles at the Integrated Test Range (ITR).

Ishwar was convicted under Sections 121, 121A, and 120B of the IPC.

Ishwar Chandra Behera, hails from Kantipur village of Baisinga in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, was working as a Contractual cameraman at the Interim Test Range (ITR), Chandipur in 2007. He had been spying for the last 8-10 months before his arrest on December 23,2015.

The police revealed that he has also received money from various terror outfits for spying for them.

The money was received via Internet banking from Abu Dhabi, Mumbai, Meerut, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, reveals police.
