Bhubaneswar: IPS officer Abhay is likely to take charge as the DGP of Odisha on Monday, informed State police headquarters.
1986 batch IPS officer Abhay was working as Director National Police Academy before neing appointed as the head of Odisha Police. Presently Satyajit Mohanty is heading the State police as the interim DGP.
Earlier the Odisha government on November 21 had removed IPS officer B.K Sharma from the post of police DGP after government received several allegations of delay in issuance fire safety certificates against Sharma. Sharma was posted as an officer on special duty in the Home Department.
