Interim Budget pro-farmer, pro-poor & development oriented: Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday called the Interim Budget, which Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera presented at the state Assembly this evening, as a pro-farmer, pro-women, pro-SC & ST and development-oriented budget.

Speaking to the newsmen after the presentation of the Interim Budget, Patnaik said, “It is a pro-farmer, pro-poor, pro-women, pro-SC & ST, pro-youth and development-oriented budget. Actually, it is a vote-on-account for four months.

“I am happy that adequate provision is made for KALIA and KALIA Scholarship, our universal health scheme Biju Swastiya Kalyan Yojana, women related initiative like MAMATA and Mission Sakti, scholarships for SC and ST students, our popular rural development programme Ama Gaon Ama Bikas, our social security programme Madhubabu Pension Yojana, Housing drinking water, electricity for all, special focus on the Make in Odisha conclave for employment generation and revenue generation. The budget will help us to continue with our good works. We believe in actual works and not promises. Our work does to the talking,” added the CM.
