Interim Budget: ECoR gets Rs 7010 cr, Khurda-Balangir line gets Rs 350 cr
Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has been allocated Rs 7010 crore in the Interim Budget 2019-20 presented in Parliament today by Union Finance Minister Piyush Goyal, according to official sources.
Some highlights which the ECoR got in the interim budget are:
- A new line has been sanctioned between Talcher and Angul (14.5 km). Total sanction of this project is estimated is Rs 287 crore.
- Total allotment of Funds for the ECoR, overall is Rs 7010 crores. This is 13% more than last year. This includes all Budgetary Heads including Projects, Electrifications, Passenger Amenities, Workshops, Track, Staff Amenities, etc.
- Allotment for New Lines this year is 2630 crore which is 67% more than the last year.
- The allotment for Passenger Amenities is 181 crores while it was 82 crores last year, an increase of 119% more than last year.
