Inspector Terminated From Service In Odisha For Remaining On Leave For 8 Years

Cuttack: Police DG B.K.Sharma today removed inspector Prafulla Kumar Sahu from service for remaining absent from duty for more than five years.

The inspector has been removed as per provisions of Rule 72 (2) of Odisha Service Code. Sahu was relieved from Keonjhar district in July 2011 to join in his new place of posting in Balangir.

However, Sahu did not turn up to join his new posting on the plea of sickness without providing any supporting document of medical treatment.

“He also willfully avoided show-cause notices issued in this regard from time to time. Further, he intentionally avoided to appear before the CDMO Balangir for his medical examination,” said a senior police official.
