Sundargarh: A woman allegedly killed her husband in an inebriated state at Gopi Sahi in Oraghat village under Koira police limits in Sundargarh district.
The deceased has been identified as Shankar Munda and the accused woman has been identified as Srimati Munda. The couple has four children.
Reportedly, the matter came to the light after some neighbours spotted Shankar missing for two days. On being asked, Srimati confessed to have murdered him on Friday night under the influence of alcohol.
Later on getting the information, Koira police arrived at the village and recovered the body. The body has been sent for the post-mortem procedure.
According to the preliminary investigation, it was ascertained that the couple was used to drinking after work. However, Shankar allegedly beat his wife after she refused to give him money for liquor, added reports.
Following this, a heated argument took place between them, and Srimati hit her husband with a wooden plank in a fit of rage and under the influence of alcohol. Shankar immediately fell down on the floor and succumbed to death.
The cops have initiated an investigation to ascertain whether the accused woman killed her husband alone or any other persons were involved in the murder.
