Indigo flight makes emergency landing at Bhubaneswar, deboards unruly passenger

Bhubaneswar: A Hyderabad-Guwahati Indigo flight made an emergency landing at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here today following unruly behavior of a passenger who was deboarded from the plane later.

As per a letter of airport security staff, the passenger namely Irshad Ali (20) tried to breach flight safety procedures by attempting to open the door of the aircraft while the IndiGo flight no. 6E 462 was en-route to Guwahati. Later, the flight was diverted to Bhubaneswar airport.

“He was very unruly. With the help of few passengers and his co-passenger Abdul Karim the unruly passenger was restrained,” the letter mentioned.

Ali was deboarded along with his co-passenger from the plane and then handed over to the QRT team of CISF. He was later rushed to Capital Hospital on suspicion of being mentally unstable.

The aircraft later resumed its journey at around 7.13 AM to arrive at Guwahati at around 8.30 AM.
