India beat England by 7 wkts in 3rd T-20, clinch series 2-1

Bristol: India beat England by seven wickets in the third and final T-20 International here in England last night to clinch the series, 2-1.

England, batting first, posted a mammoth 198 for 9, with opener Jason Roy top scoring with 67. Jos Buttler, Alex Hales and Jonny Bairstow also made valuable contributions.

Chasing 199 to win, opener Rohit Sharma amassed his third T-20 ton as Team India overhauled the target with 8 balls to spare and 7 wickets in hand.  He made an unbeaten 100 off just 56 balls, comprising 11 fours and 5 sixes.

Rohit shared an 89-run stand with Virat Kohli and accelerated in the final overs to put India in control. Hardik Pandya also played an end-of-innings cameo by hitting 33 off just 14 balls.

Rohit was adjudged man of the match as well as player of the series.

It was the highest successful run chase by any team against England in an international T20.

India and England will now play a 3-match ODI series beginning at Nottingham on Thursday. The ODIs will be followed by 5 Test matches.
