Impact of Russia-Ukraine war: Odisha Food Minister directs collectors to curb black marketing of commodity

Bhubaneswar: The prices of edible oil have been reported hiked in the wake of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. In this backdrop, Odisha Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain today warned of unreasonable price hikes.

In his Twitter handle, the Minister informed that about 80% of sunflower oil is imported to the country from Ukraine and Russia and so there is a possibility of price hike due to the current war situation between Russia and Ukraine.

He also directed the departmental officials and all district collectors to curb black marketing of the commodity and ensure an uninterrupted supply of edible oil.
