Bhubaneswar: The IMD Regional Centre here has issued thundershower alert for at least eight districts of Odisha today.
As per the latest bulletin of the MeT Department, moderate thundershower and lightning with one or two spells of light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur in the districts like Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack between 10.30 am and 1.30 pm today.
The Weatherman’s prediction came at a time while the State witnessed a decreased in rainfall after incessant rain triggered flood fear in past couple of days.
Due to the rising water level in the reservoir following heavy rain Hirakud dam also released 20 sluice gates on Thursday to release floodwater.
