IMD predicts 2 low pressure areas next week, Odisha to witness spells of rain till July 15

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted two low-pressure areas to form next week. Due to this, Odisha is likely to continue to receive spells of rain till July 15.

Reportedly, these two predicted low-pressure areas are likely to develop on July 9 and July 13.

The weather department has further predicted heavy rains on July 10 and July 14 across the State while very heavy rainfall in some parts of south Odisha.

Orange warnings have been issued for the next 24 hours in four districts including Boudh, Ganjam, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal districts. Likewise, yellow warnings to 13 districts for heavy rains.

A total of 58 mm of rainfall has been recorded in the state in the last five days.

It is pertinent to mention that a Low-Pressure Area had formed over North Odisha and adjoining south Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over south Jharkhand & neighbourhood earlier on Monday.
