Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Regional Centre here has issued a thunderstorm and rainfall alert for at least 14 districts of Odisha today.
As per the latest MeT department bulletin districts like Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundergarh, Puri and Jharsuguda are likely to experience moderate thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and light to moderate spells of rainfall at some places till 10.30 am today.
In view of the approaching extreme weather conditions people in the alerted districts have been advised to avoid venturing out of their homes and told to take shelter in safe places.
