Bhubaneswar: The IMD Regional Centre here has issued thunderstorm and rainfall alert for at least 13 districts of Odisha till 3 pm today.
As per the latest Nowcast of the MeT department, light to moderate thunderstorm is most likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kalahandi, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Rayagada.
Light to moderate rainfall with surface wind speed reaching up to 40 kmph will also take place during the alerted period, the bulletin further added.
As a precautionary measure people in the alerted districts have been cautioned against venturing out of their home and advised to stay in safe places to avoid casualty.
