Bhubaneswar: The IMD regional centre here has issued thunderstorm, lightning and rain alert for 26 districts of Odisha till 12 o’clock in the night.
“Latest Doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that moderate thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and moderate to intense rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack including Cuttack town, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Nuapara, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri between 8 PM and 12 night,” said the latest Nowcast released by the IMD.
In view of the extreme weather condition, the Weatherman has advised the people of these districts to avoid venturing out of their homes and advised to take shelter in safe places during the alerted period.
