Bhubaneswar: Adding to the rain woes of the denizens the IMD Regional Centre here has issued thunderstorm and lightning alert for as many as eight districts of Odisha today.
As per the latest weather bulletin of the department districts like Balasore, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri and Sundargarh are likely to experience thunderstorm and lightning along with spells of heavy rainfall between 10.30 am and 1.30 pm today.
As a precautionary measure people in these districts have been cautioned against venturing out of their homes during the prevailing of extreme weather conditions and advised to take shelter in safe places.
