Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Regional Centre here has issued a thunderstorm and lightning alert for at least 11 districts of Odisha today.
As per the latest Nowcast of the MeT Department districts like Bolangir, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khordha (including Bhubaneswar), Nabrangapur, Nayagarh, Nuapada and Puri are likely to experience thunderstorm and lightning between 11 am to 2 pm today.
The Weatherman has also predicted light to moderate rainfall during the same period in one or two places.
As a precautionary measure, people in these districts have been cautioned against moving out of their homes during the alerted period and advised to take shelter in safe places to avoid any untoward incident.
