Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Centre (IMD) Regional Centre here has issued a thunderstorm and lightning warning for at least eight districts of Odisha today.
As per the latest Nowcast of the MeT department, districts like Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Nuapada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sonepur and Sundergarh are likely to experience moderate thundershower and lightning accompanied by one or two spells of heavy rainfall at one or two places between 7:30 am and 10:30 am today.
As a precautionary measure, people in these districts have been cautioned against venturing out of their homes and advised to take shelter at safe places during the alerted period to avoid possible eventuality.
