Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre here has today issued thunderstorm and gusty wind warning for as many as three districts in Odisha.
The districts for which the alert has been sounded are Koraput, Malkangiri and Ganjam. The alert would remain in effect till 1.30 PM.
According to an IMD Nowcast issued at 9.15 AM this morning, latest Doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph likely to occur over Koraput, Malkangiri and Ganjam between 9.30 hrs and 13.30 hrs.
People in these districts have been advised not to venture out of their homes during the alert period and shift to safe location if possible.
